New Year’s Resolutions…

For preparedness, liberty loving, patriotic Americans (as opposed to the ‘other’ type currently throwing tantrums, bringing out their ‘Special Snow Flake 2nd Class’ medals with crossed safety pins and generally trying to finish killing the ‘grand experiment’), don’t make the mistake of thinking that the breather or ‘reprieve’ the country has been graciously given by the Almighty is reason to put the tools back in the shed, stop your preps, and lay off the PT and dig out the TV guide and bon-bons.

Here’s a few suggestions that may help if you’re in need of support:

  • I will start a more intense PT program.

  • banner
  • I will train more with my personal defense carbine and pistol of choice, both for EDC and SHTF.
  • I will walk increasingly longer distances with a full ruck with a goal of as close to 15 minutes per mile as I can get by August 1, 2017.
  • I will buy more ammo.

  • I will sell all things I’ve found to be useless to help finance my ammo and ‘good’ equipment.
  • I will study the basics more.

  • I will take time to have fun with my family and keep my training/preps in perspective.
  • I will get to know my neighbors and see who I can count on should civility disintegrate.

Feel free to add yours in the comments.  The main point is that we don’t let down our guards, and we keep on keepin’ on, as the saying goes.

There’s nobody coming to the rescue except ourselves.

Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas! And, Thank YOU!

Wishing you all the Blessings the birth of the Christ child brought over two millennia ago that still happen today!  Thank you for your support through reading, the email, the class requests, and everything you’ve done as readers throughout the last year!  Because of you, we’ve had more unique visits and views than ever, and hope 2017 is better for the country (we have a reprieve to reverse the trend), for the economy, for you, and for us.

Merry Christmas to you and yours from the Defensive Training Group!

Commemorating a VERY Happy Anniversary – The Death of the USSR

First, a toast:  “To Vladimir Ilyich Lenin and Joseph Stalin – May they burn and suffer in Hell for all Eternity!”

While the USSR died, the ideology is what we still fight today, in more subtle forms, here in our own country:  Marxism influenced and flavored by Lenin and all of his successors.  Harden your mind, body, and heart, because our respite, brought about by the recent election of a non-Marxist, will soon be over and the battle will be in earnest.  Enjoy your Christmas celebrations; hold your family and friends close; celebrate the Gift of God of the infant Jesus, but temper your joy with the foreknowledge of what has been narrowly avoided here and the challenges that must be met to overcome communist poison.

An excerpt from the article provides some background on why we celebrate this anniversary – link below.

December 24, 2016 marks the 25th anniversary of the formal end of the Soviet Union as a political entity on the map of the world. A quarter of a century ago, the curtain was lowered on the 75-year experiment in “building socialism” in the country where it all began following the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia, led by Vladimir Lenin in November 1917.

Some historians have estimated that as many as 200 million people worldwide may have died as part of the 20th century dream of creating a collectivist “paradise on earth.” The attempt to establish a comprehensive socialist system in many parts of the world over the last 100 years has been one of the cruelest and most brutal episodes in human history. Making a new “better world” was taken to mean the extermination, liquidation, and mass murder of all those who the socialist revolutionary leaders declared to be “class enemies,” including the families and even the children of “enemies of the people.”

The famous sociologist Pitirim A. Sorokin was a young professor in Petrograd (later Leningrad, and now St. Petersburg) in 1920, as the Russian Civil War that firmly established communist rule in Russia was coming to its end. He kept an account of daily life during those years, which he published many years later under the title Leaves from a Russian Diary – and Thirty Years After (1950).

Here is one of his entries from 1920:

The machine of the Red Terror works incessantly. Every day and every night, in Petrograd, Moscow, and all over the country the mountain of the dead grows higher … Everywhere people are shot, mutilated, wiped out of existence …

Every night we hear the rattle of trucks bearing new victims. Every night we hear the rifle fire of executions, and often some of us hear from the ditches, where the bodies are flung, faint groans and cries of those who did not die at once under the guns. People living near these places begin to move away. They cannot sleep …

Getting up in the morning, no man or woman knows whether he will be free that night. Leaving one’s home, one never knows whether he will return. Sometimes a neighborhood is surrounded and everyone caught out of his house without a certificate is arrested … Life these days depends entirely on luck.

This murderous madness never ended. In the 1930s, during the time of the Great Purges instituted by Soviet dictator Josef Stalin to wipe out all “enemies of the revolution” through mass executions, millions were sent to the Gulag prisons that stretched across all of the Soviet Union to be worked to death as slave labor to “build socialism.”

Before being sent to their deaths or to the forced labor camps, tens of thousands would be interrogated and cruelly tortured for confessions of non-existent crimes, imaginary anti-Soviet conspiracies, and false accusations against others.

Stalin personally sent instructions to the Soviet secret police that stated that to obtain confessions from the accused, “the NKVD was given permission by the Central Committee [of the Communist Party] to use physical influence … as a completely correct and expedient method” of interrogation.

When Stalin was told that this method was bringing forth the desired results, he told the NKVD interrogators, “Give them the works until they come crawling to you on their bellies with confessions in their teeth.” Then, in another purge, this one after World War II, Stalin simplified the instructions even more: “Beat, beat and, once again, beat.”

The Irony…It Burns….

And it’s just flat out funny, too!

“Fearing that a Trump presidency could rapidly evolve into a “Trumpocalypse”, a significant number of leftists are now stockpiling food, guns and emergency supplies.  In fact, even though many had expected a sharp drop in gun sales following Trump’s victory, what actually happened is that fear of what is coming under Trump pushed background checks for gun sales to an all-time record high on Black Friday.  The election of Donald Trump has awakened the left to a degree that we haven’t seen in decades, and some on the left are embracing hardcore survivalism without any apologies.

What is ironic about all of this is that on the other end of the political spectrum interest in prepping is probably the lowest that it has ever been in the history of the modern prepper movement.”

Read the rest, here.  And have a good chuckle.  And with anything, know that there are a few tidbits that are worthwhile in the piece, such as this one:

“I hate to say this, but in this case those on the left that are busily preparing are showing much more wisdom than many on the right that have chosen to abandon prepping altogether at this point.”

A group of us decided we were going to list the steps necessary to address some grievances that we (and pretty much most of the people I know) have with decisions that have been implemented in the name of “The People”. Some of the names at the bottom of the letter you might recognize. I did not come up with the idea or write the letter, but I am endorsing it as if I had. At this point I have a reluctant optimism, which is tempered by my understanding of the prevalent, greedy human nature in our government. I also understand that words are not deeds, and President-Elect Trump needs to “Show me” that his bold words are always followed through with honest deeds

So Now The “Left” wants To Play “Militia”?

What a piece of work…instigation with plausible deniability built in should some possessors of the not-so-coveted “Snow Flake Second Class with Crossed Safety Pins” decide to use his screed as an OPLAN.

Update:  After some thought, I figured I’d better give the lefties some unsolicitied advice about fighting a winter war.  The photo below, of dead Fins, circa 1939-40 is a superb visual warning of what you’ll face.

First, a definition, here.

Next, get into really, really good shape.  Then learn a weapon, inside and out, operating it as second nature, making first shot hits out to at least 400 meters.  After you have that down, learn small unit tactics, camouflage, concealment, and the difference between cover and concealment.  Then drill your group.  Over and over and over and over and over and over.  Then coordinate your so-called siege of the capitols of the States you are really really really upset about.  Oh..yeah..lay in enough rations, water, and other supplies that you can use for ‘cold camps’ as you live in the elements.  Don’t want to get trapped in a structure, you know.  Especially without organic and non-organic support weapons, because you’re really not used to ‘snooping and pooping’ outside of your ‘safe-coven spaces’.  Don’t even think about belt-fed or mortar support when you attack.  And REALLY make sure your rear is secure as you face inward toward where those ‘deplorables’ are meeting to cast their electoral votes.  Why?  Well, why ruin your ‘teaching moment’?  You’ll figure it out when it starts getting real.  Oh yeah…the best part?

Do this by Monday, December 19th, 2016.  You’ve got about 96 hours.  Good luck.

You gotta love it when a cowardly POS uses a disclaimer like, “I don’t agree with this, but this is how I’d do it.”. Then he says, “I’d assemble armed resistance brigades”. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA ROFLMAO! I hate to tell you Snowflake, but you picked the wrong side of that comflict to even consider it an “armed” anything. “Sign carriers”, yes… guys have the lock on that. Trump supporters (foremost of which would be Vets and LEO’s in that scenario) would be the only “armed” and tactically proficient group in that one slice shit sandwich. But hey, thanks for giving Trump supporters a reason to load ALL the mags………

How To Violently Prevent Trump From Taking Power

For the dense, let me just state unequivocally up front that I do not support this plan, and I do not advocate that violent measures be used to stop Trump. That…

Interesting Site of the Week….and Christmas is Coming!!!

H/T to WRSA.

Was very pleased to find this gem of a site on WRSA.  Great information; great references available for purchase.  As has been said before by many more intelligent and articulate people than this blogger, “Education never stops….”

Original thought provoking link, here.

Quote of the decade on the subject of ‘Constitutional Carry’ from the piece:

Constitutional Carry frees you (not “allows” you, which implies someone has authority to ban or grant your human and civil rights) to carry discreetly or otherwise without government permission or prerequisite.”

And now, without further ado, the post:

“Diplomatic Carry”

Is it right for “officials” to maintain the right to keep and bear,
when we the people, their employers, cannot?

In this country, the people are the sovereigns and government is the servant.
It’s time to put force behind those words.

Discretionary carry

May issue carry

Shall issue carry

Right to Carry

Discreet Carry

Freedom to Carry

Constitutional Carry

Diplomatic Carry

The Uninvited Ombudsman

Officials travel armed. When a contingent of our officials visits any other country, they bring armed personnel in classic right-to-bear-arms manner. Life is dangerous and the ability to protect yourself is a reasonable and prudent thing, a fundamental human right of existence, a moral imperative. So they go armed. It’s only rational. Hillary and similar bring along enough firepower that if some of their group go one way while some head off in another, they’re both covered.

The same is true in reverse. When an ambassador from Trashcanistan comes to the United States, discreetly armed bodyguards accompany the party at all times, “laws to the contrary notwithstanding.” That’s lawyer-speak for “their right to carry supersedes any other rules,” or in plainer English, “We’re above those laws.” The ambassador might decide to personally carry too. I’m guessing Hillary does not.

There’s this whole “second system” of gun possession and carry here domestically, another layer of rules on top of the common ones you must follow, operating quietly with people in the know cooperating.

Where are the laws for this exception to every gun law on the U.S. books? How does this special class of people exempt themselves from laws controlling the rest of us?

No one is harmed by their exemption. In fact, community safety increases, because assaults on those armed people are naturally deterred, even defensible if needed. Should we the people maybe have Diplomatic Carry too? Is a diplomat’s life truly at more risk — or worth more — than any “commoner”? How does this comply with equal protection under the law?

Local authorities understand implicitly that these armed folks aren’t going to randomly shoot people, or settle arguments with gunfire, the same as you and me when we’re armed. They enjoy proper respect (even if they come from regimes that don’t deserve it). We on the other hand have rights denied haphazardly, even with Constitutional Carry. As good as it is, Constitutional Carry is not enough.

Americans need and deserve the next step, Diplomatic Carry.

The body politic moves slowly. After several decades of experience, police nationwide understand and operate just fine within a framework of millions of people traveling armed. As the number of people carrying arms for crime control has increased, assaultive crimes have decreased. The media generally calls this “a surprising decrease in crime that has the experts baffled.” All these people are walking around armed, expressly to forestall crime, and the media can’t understand why crime has dropped. But I digress.

Oh sure, armed forces within the U.S. — from local police to secretive agents our government is now filled with — keep a watchful eye on the armed diplomats, as well they should. They also provide backup in the event of need. The same as for us.

But in the big picture, diplomats have less need for an ever-present armed escort than the public. A rare few diplomats face death at the hands of the mobs. Thousands of citizens are murdered each year. Who needs protection more?

The freedom of Diplomatic Carry, a concept many of us can easily grasp, is mind boggling to the great unwashed. So insulated from any truth about firearms, victims of television and the government-run school system, they have imbedded ignorance that is hard to shake. Destructively misinformed kids and teachers compound the problem. I digress again.

Now, Diplomatic Carry is not going to happen overnight. Many voices will be raised in objection to such freedom.
And unfortunately, some opposition will come from people who consider themselves firearms enthusiasts. Establishing everyone’s uninfringed freedom to carry is scary, at least to some. But that’s OK. Real freedom is a house high on a hill.

Diplomatic Carry is a paradigm shift. A window into a world that could be, and ought to be, a lofty goal. Your right to your life and its protection cannot morally be denied. It is denied only by force, and there is only one viable countermeasure to force unfortunately, in this best of all possible worlds, and that’s countervailing force. I don’t like it, but there it is.

Diplomatic Carry is a new level of autonomy, of personal sovereignty. It raises the bar. In this country, the people are the sovereigns and the government is the servant. How do you justify the servants carrying arms if the masters cannot?
The only consistent position for free people to take is this:

Anything short of Diplomatic Carry is infringement.

I am in the process of dissecting the legal framework that enables Diplomatic Carry, and modeling an approach for extending those principles to the public. Conceptually this is sound. Pragmatically it is an uphill climb, but as Americans we know that anything can be climbed. I’ll have early results soon in my blog, Sign up to stay informed.

Laughing At Liberals As They Lose Their Minds

Guest Post by Kurt Schlichter

Laughing At Liberals As They Lose Their Minds

I reached peak Twitter this week when I was sucked into a tweet battle with a liberal dwarf. True story. Donald Trump’s victory had the militant munchkin fuming. I have to admit that I was a little short with her myself.

But I should be smiling – we conservatives should all be smiling – because everything is going our way. For heaven’s sake, our next Secretary of Defense is going to be nicknamed “Mad Dog.” We just spent eight years being ruled by people who would prefer it be someone nicknamed “Hugs N’ Stuff.”

The liberals are truly going nuts, and it’s beautiful. They recently resurrected Nancy Pelosi for another glorious term winnowing away the House Democrat caucus. Pretty soon it’s just going to be her and some guy representing Berkeley who they recruited while he was shouting “Workers of the world unite!” at bored coeds on Telegraph Avenue. You know, if you want to reach out to the kind of hard-working, salt-of-the-earth, normal Americans who voted for the black guy then allegedly refused to vote for the woman because they are racist, you totally want an ancient, rich, snooty, San Francisco leftist and Botox after-picture like the Nanster.

The only way you could further alienate these alienated voters is, I don’t know, making your DNC chairman some radical leftist, urban black Muslim who hates guns, loves Farrakhan and who parties with Middle Eastern scumbags who issue fatwas to kill those voters’ soldier sons and daughters. Now, that’s some real diversity, and the Dems should totally get right on it. But seriously, we could never dare to hope that the Democrats would be that stupid. Could we?

Did you know that the president-elect has to get China’s permission to take calls from the heads of other countries? Me neither, but the liberals seem to think so. I’m really confused. We’re supposed to hate the Russians – apparently not because they invaded Ukraine or Syria but because their hacking revealed Democrat corruption – yet we’re supposed to do the organ grinder monkey dance for the commie tyrants in Beijing? Apparently, only Donald Trump can go to Taiwan – which is a vast improvement over the Putter-in-Chief crawling down to Havana to lick Castro’s blood-stained feet in front of a big mural of homophobic, racist psychopath and Brooklyn t-shirt icon Che Guevara.

Che died whimpering in 1967 thanks to a mission the CIA actually got right, and Castro has finally died, so I’m celebrating by growing a stupid beard because Castro can’t anymore because he is dead dead dead. This dumb facial thatch makes my face itch, and I look like I should go open a comic book store, develop strong opinions regarding Star Trek, and restore my virginity. But every time I think “What’s this marmot doing on my mug?” I remember how Castro is kaput and I start giggling.

Donald Trump kept his first promise and he’s not even president yet – he kept Carrier in the USA. Yeah, I get all the conservative critiques of it, and I agree. But this demonstrates that Trump intends to do what he promised, and he promised to do some seriously conservative stuff. I mean, Mad Dog Mattis as Sec Def? Jeff Sessions at DOJ? West Pointer Mike Pompeo at CIA? Coming up: SCOTUS Justice Don Willet? Cue my Meg Ryan impression. And every time some Democrat senator gets on TV and has sadz about how Harry “My NordicTrack Slugged Me” Reid nuked the filibuster, an angel gets his wings.

Look, all this fussing and worry on the conservative side about Trump selling us out is not entirely unjustified – it’s still a possibility – but it seems more likely than ever that Trump intends to succeed by keeping his promises. And that has Democrats worried. They are not worried that Trump will be a terrible president. They are worried that he will be a great one.

That’s why we now see liberals talking about buying guns, which is hilarious. No foot will be safe, but hey, if they want to try to make my new novel about America split into red and blue halves come true, it will be super amusing. Note that on Black Friday, Americans bought enough guns to arm the entire United States Marine Corps. This glorious reaffirmation of the sovereignty of American citizens over potential tyrants is heartwarming. And we eagerly await the many, many Senate Democrats running for reelection in red states in 2018 having to take a position on national concealed carry reciprocity.

Then there’s the recount thing. What a pity that all that money that would be spent annoying GOP candidates is going into a fund that could let Jill Stein move into Al Gore’s ritzy neighborhood. Maybe he can call her up to ask her to come over and give him a massage.

And as the election boards re-confirm her crushing, humiliating defeat at the hands of – HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! – Donald Freaking Trump, sore loser Hillary is now out wandering around hiking trails and Whole Foods stores snapping selfies with teary-eyed dorks and dreaming of running again in 2020. We can only hope that she does and destroys an entire generation of Democrat leaders in her quest to become the first ancient crone to become president. Mark my words: The first female president will be a Republican.

Yeah, the liberals are going nuts everywhere. In Hollywood, they are continuing their bizarre and inexplicable campaign to foist left-leaning fuglies upon American audiences. The sexy supernova that was Lena Dunham has somehow petered out, American men apparently possessing eyes and, equally importantly, ears. I’m required to be shallow since I live in LA, but there really is this thing called “inner beauty.” One can mock the utter cluelessness that possesses this dumpy strumpet to flaunt her figure as if she was Cindy Crawford, Jr., but what actually makes her ugly is the fact that she is just a horrible person – entitled, abusive, dishonest, narcissistic, snobbish and amazingly dumb.

Next up at bat is the hard-4 hedgehog that is anti-gun activist and alleged comedian Amy Schumer, another over-praised, over-hyped mediocrity who Tinseltown is trying to force down our throats like the fingers she clearly never forced down hers. These geniuses have now decided she must be the woman to play Barbie in the live action film of . . . Barbie. Let’s leave aside the fact that they consider it a good idea to make a live action film of Barbie, and focus on how they seem to think Amy Schumer is the right person to play Barbie. Chuck Schumer is sexier.

At least casting Ken should be easy since most of the liberal pretty boy actors are already similarly set up downstairs.

Yes, we are living in wonderful times. Democrats are out of power, the media has been neutered – hell, it could play Ken – and the liberal cultural institutions are talking themselves into ritual suicide. Now, all I have to do to bring it full circle is to get back on Twitter and get caught up in a spat with a socialist gnome or some transitioning elf.

Interesting Site…”Flat Out Unconstitutional”

The author, AM Perez, has an ebook out of the same name, and if you have Amazon Prime, you can read it without cost; otherwise, it’ll cost you less than $5.00 in FRN.

So far, it’s well written, full of common sense, and sure to annoy, or otherwise cause cultural Marxists heads to boil and possibly explode.  Heh.

Check it out.

From the ‘About’ page:

“The United States Constitution is the most brilliant document ever written. It says more in 5 pages, including the Bill of Rights, than any other document in history and it does so in clear, unmistakeable English.  No interpretation is required unless it says something you don’t like, meaning you’re a socialist liberal.  My goal is to do what public schools don’t do: make people aware of what the Constitution actually says rather than what you’ve been taught it says by those who stand to gain power over you by keeping you in the dark.  Power is in your hands if you’re brave enough to wield it.”
