Just wait for Day 3, 4 or 5 as the BJIT inventory (Barely Just In Time) of necessary items (like food and sundries) runs out for those with cash or is closed off by store owners not willing to do pencil/paper transactions. EBT’s don’t work when there’s no power; neither does any other plastic.
Right now, things are calm. It’s still light and people still have food; the utilities are busy saying, ‘Annnnnnnny minute now…..any minute.’
Interesting note: Virually all suburbs are good to go. Except maybe parts of Southfield along the Detroit border. Or 8 mile in Macomb County along the Gratiot corridor. Where do you think bad people will go if there’s nothing coming into Detroit to feed them?
Kinda late to ask about preps or training if you haven’t got them yet. How long do you think the police are going to stand around in 20 – 30 degree weather (without windchill), even if they bring them in from the ‘burbs’?
If you’re in Detroit propper, this is the time to count the cost and determine if you can Shelter In Place or if it’s time to GOOD, presuming you have anywhere to GOOD to. Plan B might be to get to a close-by suburban Walmart or Meijer and get food/water to last a week or more. This would situation would hold a whole lot less potential for general badness if there were NPT’s formed and trained.
